Halloween 2010

This posting is a few months late, but, better late than never!
So this year, after several years of wanting to have a Halloween party, I finally did it. We decided to go all out and plan a murder mystery party. It was so much fun! We had a pretty good turn out, about 16 people and lots of yummy food. Everyone came in costume according to their character and played their parts in order to figure out who the Murderer was!
Matt, I mean Sam Chawpalot the local butcher, Mister Crimson, local celebrity, High school principal Ms. Amethyst, and the local baker, Miss Shuga Ann Flower.
Chief C.R. Badges and Dr. Docter Dijon
My brother Justin aka Cougar Forest, professional golfer...
My sister-in-law Sharla, or should I say London Wilton, stuck up heiress, was the victim at this party and after much detective work we discovered that her sister Miss Shuga Ann Flower was the one that killed her!
Miss Alota Beauties, Beauty Pageant Director
Miss Rita Bookaday, Dr. Doctor Dijon & Chief C.R. Badges
 Some witches fingers breadsticks
 Vomit......I mean....white chicken chili
 The plethora of disgusting drinks.
Mike, aka Mayor Paul A. Tishon taking London Wilton's wig for a test drive....

 Bloody cake
Blood....I mean...marinara sauce for the witches fingers
Miss Shuga Ann Flower. Hard to believe this woman is a cold blooded murderer....

Over all I think it was super fun to have all our friends over and pretend for a night. I love throwing parties and hopefully I will be able to have another one soon!

End of Summer update

So it's been over 2 months since my last post and a lot has happened since then. First of all, we went on vacation to Denver, CO with our good friends Jordan & Annalissa Stoddard. It was a lot of fun! We were able to go to a Rockies game, the Denver Zoo, see the Red Rock Ampitheatre, tour a mine, go to a comedy club, the guys went golfing and the girls went shopping and we also ate a ton of good food - including The Cherry Cricket burger which we saw on Food Network right before we left Idaho. Over all it was a pretty amazing vacation; it's always fun to visit a place you've never been before. We decided to get a rental car so we could drive around without having to worry about paying for a taxi. Much to Mike's surprise we were given his "dream car". A Subaru Impreza. It is actually a really nice car and we had a lot of fun driving around. I was more greatful for our GPS system than I was for it in LA last summer! Overall I think we all had a ton of fun but we were definitely grateful to be home again after 6 days days away. Here are a few photos of our vacay:

Mike eating a pretty amazing Rockies Dog at the baseball game. It's a footlong beef dog with sauerkraut, and grilled onions and peppers. Everytime we go to a new stadium we have to try their signature hot dog and I have to say this one gives the Seattle Mariners a run for their money! :)
We had pretty amazingly awesome seats for the Sunday afternoon game. We were sitting in the Wells Fargo concourse which is all airconditioned and has some exclusive gourmet foods served in it. It was a really good game and we stayed into extra innings because it was just that good! :)
Mike with his menu at The Cherry Cricket, a burger joint in Denver that we saw on The Food Network before we left Idaho.

Mike & I at the Red Rocks Ampitheatre.
This deer was at the ampitheatre just grazing. He must have been accustomed to humans because he let get really close. It was pretty cool. :)

The View from the top of the ampitheatre. It is a really cool place that holds all kinds of concerts and plays. It is carved right out of the natural red rocks and it's so huge it seats 10,000 people! While we were there we got to watch them set up for a Rush concert so that was pretty neat.
Just Mike chillin on the edge of a cliff after our picinic lunch....

Our sexy hard hats! We were just about to go into the Phoenix mine for our tour. It was actually a pretty cool thing. Now I can say I have been in a mine...so totally worth it. :)

Mike is really sunburned after a day on the golf course.I of course am not burned since I spent the entire day shopping... :)
This Lion was at the Denver Zoo. It was over 100 degrees the day we went to the zoo so I'm sure the Lion was just trying to cool off but it made me laugh because our dog Maizy sleeps just like this! :)

Exhausted Jordan & Annalissa ready to go home. :)
Our trustworthy rental car. It was so sad to have to say goodbye. :(
Annalissa & I at the comedy club we went to in downtown. I decided I love comedy clubs and I want to go again!

The clouds were crazy cool on the flight home. It was like we were flying over Heaven.
Mikey is exhausted on the flight home. :)

I don't really have any pictures of anything cool that has happened since then except for my good friend Kacey's 24th birthday! We went and got pedicures together (which I neglected to photograph) during the day, then Mike & I went to Kacey & Jason's house for a homemade dinner of Shrimp & Chicken pasta. We played tons of games and lit up a ramekin of Creme Brulee with 24 candles for Kacey to blow out and then ended the night with a dip in the hot tub. I had tons of fun and I hope Kacey had a good birthday! I love hanging out with those guys! :)

Shanna's 23!

So I turned 23 on August 4. The festivities actually started on the 2nd with cake and ice cream with the fam. I wound up buying my own cake at Albertson's cause it was kind of a last minute deal, but hey at least the girl in the bakery spelled my name right this year..... :)

My actual birthday was a pretty good day I have to say and for the first time in many years it didn't rain! Mike and I both had the day off work so we started it off by sleeping in. Then had yummy french toast for breakfast. For lunch we dined at our favorite Mexican place Coachina Latina -yes, it's a taco wagon. A taco wagon that makes the best freaking carne asada street tacos this side of Mexico. Actually that might not be true, but they are the best street tacos I've ever tasted that's for sure! :)

After lunch we drove to a little local bakery in downtown - Carston's Bakery and purchased a few of the best darn brownies in town for desert.
We went home and chilled for a bit, did a little shopping and then we went boating with our friends Kacey and Jason. Much to my surprise it didn't rain or blow or storm on my birthday this year! I think I surprised Mother Nature by having my party 2 days early... I'll have to remember that for next year! :) After the hubs had fun wakeboarding we stopped and ate dinner on a floating dock. Then after a lot of coaxing Kacey and I decided to jump in the dark fish infested water and try our hand at wake boarding. We both pretty much sucked at it but it sure was fun trying. :)

Even though wakeboarding left my entire body sore for days after, it was totally worth it and I'm glad I was able to spend my birthday with good friends and good food. :)
